It is ten years ago now since Eminem released his first studio album in the form of The Slim Shady LP. The album was ground breaking in a number of ways, but for me personally it was the first rap album that I ever listened to. Back in 1999 I was still a teenager and rap was not really very popular in the U.K. The album was fairly successful, following the release of the single 'My Name Is', but after that the album started to disappear from view.
